Colony 13

Colony 13 was a swarm caught on the pavement opposite Waitrose in Headington. It's origin is unknown.

Its Queen died during the recovery. I had hoped that this was a cast swarm which can contain more than one virgin Queen. No comb was built when the swarm was hived so the bees dispersed, probably to other hives.
